Hello my friends!
Hello my friends! As hard as it is to believe, December- and the year 2025- is rapidly coming to an end!
In our first year, Sandy’s Garden has donated 6,824 pounds of fresh, wholesome vegetables grown in our garden, and 134 dozen eggs laid by our free-ranging, fun, and endlessly entertaining ducks and chickens! I am so grateful to the many people and businesses who took the risk and supported a brand-new nonprofit. I hope that we have shown that our passion is matched by our determination and abilities.

We can now look forward to 2026- we hope to be able to grow and donate even more! In addition to growing all of the spring, summer, and fall vegetables, we should be able to pick strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries from the plants and bushes which were planted in 2025 and needed to get established. Also, we have learned a lot, and will plan to use our garden space in an even more useful and productive way.
But right now, the garden is covered by a blanket of snow. It is time to rest. To wait. To reflect. To plan. To hope.

I have said before that it is easy to get discouraged. The need is large, the times are scary, and we are just one garden. But we must keep trying. Mother Theresa said, “If you cannot feed 100 people, feed one.” OK. We can do that. We WILL do that. We will feed our neighbors with hope, and love, and tomatoes.
Thank you, my friends. Happy Holidays to everyone. Join me in working for a 2026 filled with hope and kindness.

With love and gratitude
Sandy Zappia 🙂
